Skapski turned aside a pair of first-period breakaway attempts, and was solid down the stretch as the Ice (32-29-2) inched closer to a playoff spot.
They are currently eighth in the WHL's Eastern Conference.
Cam Lanigan made 38 saves for Medicine Hat (33-29-3), which remained sixth in the conference.
Life's about opportunity and how you respond to that opportunity, and obviously he must have some swagger about him, some confidence about him, because he was solid. He made some good saves. He was 6-foot-3 on every shot, which is a good thing for a goalie. He played well. We got a win.
