Jaedon Descheneau scores 2 for Kootenay in 2-0 win over Lethbridge

LETHBRIDGE, Alta. - Jaedon Descheneau scored twice as the Kootenay Ice shut out the Lethbridge Hurricanes 2-0 in Western Hockey League play Sunday.

Descheneau scored at 13:21 of the second period and added another shot into an empty net in the final minute of regulation for Kootenay (31-29-2).

Mackenzie Skapski meanwhile made 36 saves in net for the Ice, who are on a four-game winning streak.

The result ruined a spectacular performance from Ty Rimmer, who stopped 48 shots for Lethbridge (25-28-9), which is winless in six games.

Quote of the Day

It's a little different but it feels amazing. A new chapter in my life and I'm excited. It's been amazing. Better than I expected. The weather is great, the place is just amazing. I can't say enough good things about it. I'm glad to get the season going.
