Festarini 34 saves, Ritchie two goals as the IceDogs end winless streak

ST. CATHARINES, Ont. - Chris Festarini made 34 saves as the Niagara IceDogs defeated the visiting Kingston Frontenacs 4-1 in Ontario Hockey League action Saturday night.

Festarini was at his best when he turned away all 17 shots he faced in the third period.

Brett Ritchie scored twice for the IceDogs (27-29-4), who halted a four-game winless streak, while Ondrej Kopta and Jesse Graham each scored once.

Henri Ikonen scored the lone goal for the Frontenacs (23-29-5) and Mike Morrison turned away 27 shots in a losing cause.

Niagara went 1 for 2 on the power play while Kingston failed to score on five chances with the man advantage.

Quote of the Day

I downplayed the first one because I thought it's just a hockey game. We just want to win the game; it's against our rival and we want the two points. I downplayed it, but now having gone through the first one I look back and say, 'Geez, that was really cool.' I think as I've grown a bit older I've got a lot more appreciation for what we're allowed to do every day.
