WINDSOR, Ont. - Kerby Rychel scored a goal and added four assists as the Windsor Spitfires defeated the Erie Otters 8-5 on Thursday in OHL action.
Alex Aleardi and Ben Johnson both scored twice for the Spitfires (23-28-7), while Alexander Khokhlachev, Remy Giftopoulos and Graeme Brown all had singles.
J.P. Labardo, with two, Nick Betz, Dane Fox and Stephen Harrper replied for the Otters (17-34-8).
Khokhlachev also had three assists for a four-point night while Trevor Murphy and Josh Ho-Sang both chipped in with a pair of assists apiece for Windsor.
Trailing 4-3 after 40 minutes of play, the Spitfires exploded for five goals with Johnson's two goals, Aleardi's second goal of the game, Brown's first career OHL goal and Rychel's team-leading 34th goal of the season (empty-net).
Brown scored what proved to be the game-winner when he rifled a wrist shot off a pass from Khokhlachev while parked at the top of the left face-off circle.
Playing in just his 12th career game, Brown also added an assist and was named the game's first star.
Jordan Dekort made 29 saves to pick up the win in goal while Devin Williams made 39 stops at the other end.
The win snapped a five-game losing streak for the Spitfires.
