Colorado Avalanche forward Milan Hejduk left Wednesday night's game against the St. Louis Blues with what the team called a torso injury and will not return.

Hejduk played seven shifts and saw five minutes of ice time before leaving with the injury. He entered the night with two goals and seven points in Colorado's first 14 games.

The 37-year-old recently played his 1,000th NHL game. He has 373 goals and 801 points in 1,005 regular-season games.

Quote of the Day

[He's] real confident with the puck now, getting it off his stick quick and no second-guessing. We need that. He's such a good guy in the room. He works so hard. That's the big thing. For not a big man, he just fights for every puck and when he scores, the guys appreciate that even more.
