Thunderbirds end winless streak and move ahead of Silvertips in Western Conference standings

EVERETT, Wash. - Brandon Glover stopped 20 shots as the Seattle Thunderbirds downed the host Everett Silvertips 4-1 on Saturday in Western Hockey League action.

Shea Theodore, Alexander Delnov, Adam Kambeitz and Roberts Lipsbergs scored for the Thunderbirds (20-32-7), who ended their seven-game winless streak, and Justin Hickman chipped in with two assists.

Manraj Hayer scored the lone goal for the Silvertips (21-34-5), who lost their 10th game in a row, and Daniel Cotton made 24 saves in defeat.

Seattle went 0 for 4 on the power play while Everett scored once on five chances with the man advantage.

With the victory, the Thunderbirds and Silvertips are tied with 47 points each, however Seattle holds onto seventh in the Western Conference because of playing one less game. Everett is clinging onto the eighth and final playoff position, just three points ahead of the Prince George Cougars.
