SAGINAW, Mich. - Eric Locke scored three times and added two assists and Garret Ross had two goals and three assists as the Saginaw Spirit downed the visiting Windsor Spitfires 7-4 on Saturday in Ontario Hockey League play.

Justin Kea also scored twice for the Spirit (27-23-6), who won for the first time in three outings, while Jason Shaw and Nick Moutrey chipped in with two assists apiece.

Trevor Murphy scored once and set up two more for the Spitfires (22-27-7), who are winless in four games, and Ben Johnson, Emerson Clark and Alex Aleardi had the others.

Jake Paterson made 31 saves for the win as Jaroslav Pavelka stopped 35 shots in a losing cause.

Saginaw went 1 for 7 on the power play while Windsor scored once on six chances with the man advantage.

Once again, it shows character in this dressing room. Once again, there's no quitting in here. We all wanted this so bad and we worked so hard to get home-ice advantage and we weren't going to let this one slide.
