BARRIE, Ont. - Mathias Niederberger turned aside 28 shots for his second shutout of the season as the Barrie Colts blanked the Mississauga Steelheads 3-0 in Ontario Hockey League action Saturday night.

With the victory, the Colts maintain a one-point lead over the Belleville Bulls for first place in the Eastern Conference.

Mississauga’s Tyson Teichmann made 42 saves in a losing cause.

It was the second consecutive night that Mississauga (24-26-5) was held off the scoresheet and the sixth time this season.

The Colts found some success with the man advantage, as they went 1 for 4. The Steelheads did not have a power play.

Quote of the Day

I don't think it's really truly going to sink in until we drop the puck, to be honest. I know there's going to be a lot of smoke and mirrors with the media attention and all that. We came [Monday] and it was sort of a light day to get things organized. We just want to focus in on the business aspect, the game itself. That's what we're preparing to do. Get these next couple of days out of the way and it's game on.
