Bertaggia scores twice in return as the Chiefs down the Silvertips

EVERETT, Wash. - Alessio Bertaggia scored twice in his first game back from injury as the Spokane Chiefs doubled up the host Everett Silvertips 6-3 on Friday in Western Hockey League play.

Bertaggia, who had played just two games for Spokane since arriving at the trade deadline because of an upper-body injury, scored a first-period goal and added an empty-net goal.

Cole Wedman, Mitch Holmberg, Dylan Walchuk and Mikulas Rimmel also scored for the Chiefs (34-22-2) and Eric Williams made 24 saves to earn the win.

Kohl Bauml scored twice for the Silvertips (21-33-5), who lost their ninth game in a row, and Manraj Hayer scored the other.

Daniel Cotton finished with 33 saves in a losing cause.

Both clubs went 1 for 3 on the power play.

Quote of the Day

Your team is going to want to recapture the feeling. What they're going to have to figure out is they're going to have to rewrite the story. Because you're going to rewrite the story doesn't mean you want a different end. It's just that you're going to have to learn that there's different challenges to get there, and if you're going to try and tap the same feeling, it ain't going to happen.
