Valk with three points as the Tigers extend win streak to five games

MEDICINE HAT, Alta. - Curtis Valk had a goal and two assists as the Medicine Hat Tigers defeated the visiting Prince George Cougars 5-3 on Friday in Western Hockey League play.

Hunter Shinkaruk had a goal and an assist for the Tigers (30-26-3), who extended their win streak to five games, while Miles Koules, Elgin Pearce and Logan McVeigh each scored once.

Colin Jacobs scored all three goals for the Cougars (17-33-8), who are winless in three contests.

Marek Langhamer made 37 saves for the win as Mac Engel stopped 25-of-30 shots in a losing cause.

Medicine Hat went 2 for 7 on the power play while Prince George scored once on three chances with the man advantage.
