Mike McKenna stops 24 shots as Peoria Rivermen beat Abbotsford Heat 4-1

PEORIA, Ill. - Mike McKenna made 24 saves as the Peoria Rivermen defeated the Abbotsford Heat 4-1 in American Hockey League action Friday.

Cody Beach, Brett Sonne, Chris Porter and Adam Cracknell each scored for Peoria (22-21-6).

Ben Walter's power-play goal in the second period was the lone offence for the Heat (26-18-7), while Danny Taylor stopped 30 shots.

Beach opened the scoring just over two minutes into the first, before Walter tied the game in the second.

From there it was all Peoria, with goals by Sonne and Porter in the second and Cracknell's empty-net goal capping the scoring in the third.
