She scores! Judge orders man to give up Jets season tickets to sister-in-law

WINNIPEG - A judge has ruled that a man with season tickets to Winnipeg Jets games was skating on thin ice when he failed to hand them over to his sister-in-law.

John Longstaff's story in court was that he had told Darlene Gibb she could have the National Hockey League ducats when he died.

But Gibb said Longstaff promised her she could have the tickets after one season.

Longstaff, who is 73, was eligible for the seats last year because he already had season tickets with Winnipeg's American Hockey League team when the NHL returned to the city.

The judge sided with Gibb's story.

He noted that she and her son did everything possible to set up for the transfer, including paying for the tickets in full.

Quote of the Day

Obviously there's a lot of expectations around me but it's something I try not to focus on. I'm just trying to go out there, be myself on the ice every day, try to get better, be myself around the guys in the locker room. I think that's what's made me successful and the person that I am.
