Walker with three points as the Blades extend win streak to eight games

SASKATOON - Brenden Walker had two goals and an assist as the Saskatoon Blades downed the visiting Lethbridge Hurricanes 5-2 on Saturday in Western Hockey League play.

Shane McColgan, Matej Stranksy and Nathan Burns each had a goal and an assist for the Blades (31-21-3), who extended their win streak to eight games, and Michael Ferland chipped in with three assists.

Kolten Olynek and Ryan Pilon scored for the Hurricanes (25-25-9), who are winless in three games.

Andrey Makarov made 27 saves for the win as Ty Rimmer turned away 34 shots in a losing cause.

Saskatoon went 1 for 5 on the power play while Lethbridge failed to score on three chances with the man advantage.

For me, it's a great win for our hockey team and for a lot of people back in Columbus, especially our fans in particular … people who have been devoted to this organization, it's big.
