Lock, Ross four points each as the Spirit down the Colts

SAGINAW, Mich. - Eric Locke and Garret Ross each had a goal and three assists as the Saginaw Spirit downed the visiting Barrie Colts 5-3 on Saturday in Ontario Hockey League play.

Jimmy Lodge scored once and set up two more for the Spirit (26-21-6), who have won eight of their last 11 games, and Dalton Young and Justin Kea each scored once.

Mark Scheifele had a goal and an assist for the Colts (34-16-2), who lost for the first time in three outings, while Tyson Fawcett and Anthony Camara added a goal apiece.

Jake Paterson stopped 37-of-39 shots for the win as Alex Fotinos took the loss after allowing four goals on 11 shots in 29 minutes of action. Mathias Niederberger replaced Fotinos and stopped all 14 shots he faced in relief.

Saginaw went 2 for 7 on the power play while Barrie failed to score on seven chances with the man advantage.
