Virtanen two goals, Padakin three points as the Hitmen down the Silvertips

EVERETT, Wash. - Jake Virtanen scored twice and Pavlo Padakin had a goal and two assists as the Calgary Hitmen downed the host Everett Silvertips 5-1 on Friday in Western Hockey League play.

Spencer Humphries and Calder Brooks also scored for the Hitmen (35-16-4) while Mack Shields stopped 28 shots for the victory.

Landon Oslanksi scored the lone goal for the Silvertips (21-30-5), who have dropped six games in a row, and Daniel Cotton made 33 saves in defeat.

Calgary went 1 for 4 on the power play while Everett scored once on seven chances with the man advantage.
