Kosmachuk scores twice, Sparks stops 40 shots as the Storm edge the Rangers in SO

KITCHENER, Ont. - Scott Kosmachuk scored twice in regulation and Garret Sparks turned away 40 shots as the Guelph Storm edged the host Kitchener Rangers 4-3 on Friday in Ontario Hockey League action.

Sparks now has 27 wins, which leads the OHL and ties his career high that was set last season.

Justin Auger and Jason Dickinson both scored in the shootout for the Storm (30-17-5) while Patrick Watling also scored in regulation time.

Ryan Murphy and Tobias Rieder each had a goal and an assist for the Rangers (31-15-7) and Justin Bailey added a single goal.

Joel Vienneau stopped 40-of-43 shots in a losing cause.

Guelph went 0 for 5 on the power play while Kitchener scored twice on six chances with the man advantage.
