Cobbold scores twice as the Steelheads double up the IceDogs

MISSISSAUGA, Ont. - Spenser Cobbold scored twice to lead the Mississauga Steelheads to a 4-2 victory over the visiting Niagara IceDogs on Friday in Ontario Hockey League play.

Stuart Percy had a goal and two assists for the Steelheads (24-24-4) while Dylan DeMelo recorded a goal and an assist.

Steven Shipley and Jordan Maletta scored for the IceDogs (25-24-2).

Spencer Martin made 30 saves for the win as Brent Moran turned aside 25 shots in a losing cause

Mississauga went 3 for 5 on the power play while Niagara scored once on five chances with the man advantage

The Steelheads are currently seventh in the Eastern Conference, two points behind the sixth-place IceDogs.

Quote of the Day

I downplayed the first one because I thought it's just a hockey game. We just want to win the game; it's against our rival and we want the two points. I downplayed it, but now having gone through the first one I look back and say, 'Geez, that was really cool.' I think as I've grown a bit older I've got a lot more appreciation for what we're allowed to do every day.
