Ferland, Stransky score 2 each as Saskatoon romps past Prince Albert 7-1

SASKATOON - Michael Ferland and Matej Stransky each scored twice as the Saskatoon Blades hammered the Prince Albert Raiders 7-1 in Western Hockey League play Wednesday.

Shane McColgan, Erik Benoit and Collin Valcourt also scored for Saskatoon (29-21-3), which won its sixth straight game to move to within four points of the East Division-leading Raiders.

Leon Draisaitl scored the lone goal for Prince Albert (30-19-5) in the third period.

Andrey Makarov made 30 saves for Saskatoon, while Luke Siemens was pulled from the Raiders' net after stopping 28-of-33 shots. He was replaced by Andy Desautels, who gave up two goals on 13 shots.

Quote of the Day

— Ottawa Senators assistant general manager Pierre Dorion on the Binghamton Senators (AHL affiliate)
