MISSISSAUGA, Ont. - Kristoff Kontos scored twice to lead the Mississauga Steelheads to a 4-1 victory over the Kingston Frontenacs in the Ontario Hockey League on Wednesday.
Dylan DeMelo scored the game winner while Dylan Smoskowitz also scored for the Steelheads (23-24-4), who snapped a three-game losing streak. Riley Brace finished with three assists while Mississauga captain Stuart Percy chipped in on a pair of goals.
Darcy Greenaway recorded the lone goal for the Frontenacs (20-26-5), losers of 12 straight.
All of Mississauga's goals were scored on special teams. Kontos scored on the power play as well as shorthanded into an empty net, while DeMelo and Smoskowitz scored with the man advantage.
The Steelheads finished 3 for 10 on the power play, while Kingston was blanked on three opportunities.
Mississauga moved five points ahead of Kingston for seventh place in the OHL Eastern Conference standings.
Steelheads goalie Spencer Martin finished with 16 saves while Mike Morrison stopped 33 shots for the Frontenacs.
