COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Columbus Blue Jackets have activated defenceman Nikita Nikitin off injured reserve after he missed three games with an upper-body injury.

Nikitin is expected to return to the lineup for Thursday night's home game against Calgary.

Acquired from the St. Louis Blues last year, Nikitin has two assists and six penalty minutes in seven games this season. He set career highs in goals, assists, points and games played last season with the Blues and Blue Jackets with seven goals and 25 assists in 61 games.

Quote of the Day

That's today's game. That's one of the things you have to deal with when you're a championship team. Guys are going to earn more money based on their performance and what they've achieved, [and] deservedly so. [Saad] falls into that category.
