Lipon leads way as the Blazers edge the Silvertips in SO

EVERETT, Wash. - JC Lipon scored once in regulation and then added the shootout winner as the Kamloops Blazers edged the host Everett Silvertips 3-2 on Saturday in Western Hockey League action.

Colin Smith also scored for the Blazers (35-15-5) while Cole Cheveldave stopped 28 shots for the win.

Landon Oslanski scored both goals for the Silvertips (21-28-5), who are winless in four games, and Daniel Cotton made 30 saves in a losing cause.

Kamloops went 0 for 4 on the power play while Everett scored once on six chances with the man advantage.
