Brossoit 23 saves, Lazar two goals as the Oil Kings blank the Broncos

EDMONTON - Laurent Brossoit stopped 23 shots as the Edmonton Oil Kings blanked the visiting Swift Current Broncos 3-0 on Friday in Western Hockey League play.

Curtis Lazar scored twice for the Oil Kings (37-11-5), who extended their win streak to seven games, and David Musil had the other.

Henrik Samuelsson and Dylan Wruck each chipped in with two assists for Edmonton.

Edmonton went 1 for 6 on the power play while Swift Current failed to score on either of its chances with the man advantage.

Quote of the Day

You don't see many. The [Drew] Doughtys, the [P.K.] Subbans, those are guys that create offense from the back and then on top of that ability, the size that he has. In the West you play against some pretty big players, and being able to clear the crease and contain the [Ryan] Getzlafs and the [Corey] Perrys and [Anze] Kopitars and players like that, we're excited about him going back there.
