TORONTO - Forward Corey Pawley of the London Knights has been suspended eight games by the OHL for hitting an opponent in the head during a game last week.
Pawley was suspended for hitting Ottawa's Mark Petaccio in the head at centre ice during London's 11-1 victory over the 67's on Thursday night.
The five-foot-eight, 163-pound Pawley received a five-minute major penalty and was ejected from the game for the incident.
Pawley, 18, has already sat out two games and will be eligible to return to London's lineup Feb. 17 when the Knights travel to St. Catharines, Ont., to face the Niagara IceDogs.
