Report: Deal is off between Arnott, Rangers
Katie Strang of ESPNNewYork.com reported Sunday night that Jason Arnott, who signed a one-year contract with the New York Rangers on Saturday, was not cleared by team doctors this weekend, thus nullifying the deal.

Jason Arnott may not become a member of the New York Rangers after all.

Katie Strang of ESPNNewYork.com reported Sunday night that Arnott, who signed a one-year contract with the Blueshirts on Saturday, was not cleared by team doctors this weekend, thus nullifying the deal.

The 38-year-old center has 417 goals and 521 assists in 1,244 NHL games with Edmonton, New Jersey, Dallas, Nashville, Washington and St. Louis. He was originally drafted by the Oilers in the first round (No. 7) of the 1993 NHL Entry Draft.

Quote of the Day

I got a chance to play a thousand games and that's pretty special to me. To get a thousand [points], it's a great accomplishment. I'm not going to hide my feelings, I'm proud of that. To do it on a win, do it on a goal, I think it makes it special.
