Magee scores twice as Royals extend win streak

VICTORIA - Brandon Magee scored two goals as the Victoria Royals downed the visiting Vancouver Giants 4-1 on Saturday in Western Hockey League play.

Jamie Crooks and Brandon Fushimi also scored for the Royals (27-17-3), who extended their win streak to seven games.

Cain Franson scored the lone goal for the Giants (12-38-0), who are now winless in six contests.

Patrik Polivka made 17 saves for the win as Jared Rathjen stopped 23 shots in a losing cause.

Victoria went 2 for 5 on the power play while Vancouver failed to score on five chances with the man advantage.
