Heard, Trocheck three points each as the Whalers down the Sting

PLYMOUTH, Mich. - Mitchell Heard and Vincent Trocheck each had two goals and an assist as the Plymouth Whalers downed the Sarnia Sting 6-2 on Saturday in Ontario Hockey League play.

Garrett Meurs and Connor Carrick also scored for the Whalers (25-14-9), who won for the third time in their last four outings.

Craig Duininck and Taki Pantziris scored for the Sting (27-18-3).

Matt Mahalak stopped 23 shots for the win as Knicholas Dawe made 34 saves in a losing cause.

Plymouth went 1 for 4 on the power play while Sarnia scored once on three chances with the man advantage.
