Alderson scores three times as the Greyhounds down the Generals

SAULT STE MARIE, Ont. - Brandon Alderson scored three times as the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds beat the visiting Oshawa Generals 6-4 on Saturday in Ontario Hockey League play.

Michael Schumacher had two goals and an assist for the Greyhounds (26-19-4), who have won three of their last four games, and Nick Cousins chipped in with three assists.

Andrew Fritsch scored a single goal to round out Sault Ste. Marie's offence.

Tyler Biggs scored two goals for the Generals (27-18-4) and Boone Jenner and Bradley Latour each scored once.

Matt Murray made 23 saves for the win as Daniel Altshuller took the loss after allowing five goals on 25 shots in 42 minutes of action. Ken Appleby replaced Altshuller early in the third period and stopped all nine shots he faced.

Sault Ste. Marie went 2 for 4 on the power play while Oshawa failed to score on either of its chances with the man advantage.

Quote of the Day

Your team is going to want to recapture the feeling. What they're going to have to figure out is they're going to have to rewrite the story. Because you're going to rewrite the story doesn't mean you want a different end. It's just that you're going to have to learn that there's different challenges to get there, and if you're going to try and tap the same feeling, it ain't going to happen.
