Canadiens' Pacioretty out after appendectomy

MONTREAL (AP) - Canadiens forward Max Pacioretty will miss three-to-four weeks after having an emergency appendectomy.

The team announced in a brief statement Saturday that the 24-year-old Pacioretty had the procedure to remove his appendix.

He has four assists and a team-high 10 shots on goal in three games this season. Pacioretty, drafted 22nd overall by Montreal in 2007, has 53 goals and 65 assists in 205 games with the Canadiens.

Quote of the Day

I think I'm lucky to be here and you definitely don't take very many things for granted, if you take anything for granted. I definitely put my family and my wife and my close family in perspective, that they're the most important thing in the world. I want to do whatever I can to play hockey, but like I said, under the right circumstances.
