Fioretti scores winner as Warriors halt 10-game winless streak

MOOSE JAW, Sask. - Sam Fioretti scored twice, including the winner at 4:49 of overtime, as the Moose Jaw Warriors edged the visiting Kootenay Ice 3-2 on Friday in Western Hockey League action.

Carter Hansen also scored for the Warriors (15-25-9), who halted a 10-game winless streak, and Morgan Rielly chipped in with two assists.

Sam Reinhart and Collin Shirley scored for the Ice (22-25-2), who lost for the first time in six outings.

Moose Jaw went 1 for 3 on the power play while Kootenay scored once on six chances with the man advantage.

Quote of the Day

Obviously there's a lot of expectations around me but it's something I try not to focus on. I'm just trying to go out there, be myself on the ice every day, try to get better, be myself around the guys in the locker room. I think that's what's made me successful and the person that I am.
