Canadiens forward Max Pacioretty out 3-to-4 weeks after emergency appendicectomy

MONTREAL - Montreal Canadiens forward Max Pacioretty underwent an emergency appendicectomy Saturday.

The 24-year-old will miss three-to-four weeks, according to a brief Canadiens statement.

Pacioretty has four assists and a team-high 10 shots on goal in three games this season.

The six-foot-two, 196 pound American was drafted 22nd overall by Montreal in 2007.

Pacioretty has 53 goals and 65 assists in 205 games with the Habs.

Quote of the Day

I think I'm lucky to be here and you definitely don't take very many things for granted, if you take anything for granted. I definitely put my family and my wife and my close family in perspective, that they're the most important thing in the world. I want to do whatever I can to play hockey, but like I said, under the right circumstances.
