Khokhlachev scores SO winner as Spitfires edge Greyhounds

SAULT STE MARIE, Ont. - Alexander Khokhlachev scored the shootout winner as the Windsor Spitfired edged the host Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds 3-2 on Friday in Ontario Hockey League play.

Ben Johnson and Remy Giftopoulos scored in regulation time for the Spitfires (20-20-7) and Jaroslav Pavelka stopped 32-of-34 shots for the win.

Jared McCann and Brandon Alderson scored for the Greyhounds (25-19-4), who lost for the first time in three outings, while Matt Murray made 25 saves in a losing cause.

Windsor went 0 for 3 on the power play while Sault Ste. Marie failed to score on four chances with the man advantage.

Yeah, we blew 3-2 series leads the last two years, but no one is going remember that if we go out there on Saturday night and beat these guys and go play in the Stanley Cup Final.
