Eddie Pasquale makes 26 saves as St. John's IceCaps beat Hershey Bears 3-1

HERSHEY, Pa. - Eddie Pasquale stopped 26 shots as the St. John's IceCaps defeated the Hershey Bears 3-1 in American Hockey League action Friday.

Patrice Cormier, Ben Maxwell and Raymond Sawada, with a shot into an empty net, each scored for St. John's (19-21-3).

Jon DiSalvatore replied with a power-play goal for Hershey (20-19-3), and Philipp Grubauer made 25 saves.

After a scoreless first period Cormier opened the scoring with the man advantage at 11:52.

Four minutes later DiSalvatore tied the game, but less than a minute later Maxwell scored the eventual game winner.

Quote of the Day

I downplayed the first one because I thought it's just a hockey game. We just want to win the game; it's against our rival and we want the two points. I downplayed it, but now having gone through the first one I look back and say, 'Geez, that was really cool.' I think as I've grown a bit older I've got a lot more appreciation for what we're allowed to do every day.
