Payne, Lorentz score two goals each, lead Whalers to 7-1 win over Otters

PLYMOUTH, Mich. - Cody Payne and Zach Lorentz scored two goals each as the Plymouth Whalers defeated the Erie Otters 7-1 in Ontario Hockey League action Monday.

Matt Mahalak made 24 saves for Plymouth allowing just a Luke Cairns goal at 13:08 of the first period.

Quote of the Day

[He's] real confident with the puck now, getting it off his stick quick and no second-guessing. We need that. He's such a good guy in the room. He works so hard. That's the big thing. For not a big man, he just fights for every puck and when he scores, the guys appreciate that even more.
