Appleby makes 24 saves as the Generals down the Steelheads

OSHAWA, Ont. - Ken Appleby stopped 24 shots as the Oshawa Generals beat the visiting Mississauga Steelheads 4-1 on Sunday in Ontario Hockey League play.

Matt Petgrave and Brian Hughes each had a goal and an assist for the Generals (26-16-4), while Cole Cassels and Scott Sabourin scored a goal apiece.

Andrew Goldberg scored the lone goal of the game for the Steelheads (20-20-4), who are winless in their last seven outings, and Spencer Martin made 22 saves in a losing cause.

Oshawa went 2 for 4 on the power play while Mississauga failed to score on five chances with the man advantage.
