SASKATOON - Nick Walters scored the winner in the 12th round of the shootout and Corbin Boes stopped 43-of-45 shots as the Brandon Wheat Kings edged the host Saskatoon Blades 3-2 on Saturday in Western Hockey League action.
Colton Waltz and Tim McGauley scored in regulation time for the Wheat Kings (17-26-4).
Lukas Sutter and Collin Valcourt scored for the Blades (22-20-3) as Andrey Makarov turned away 31 shots in a losing cause.
Neither club could produce with the power play as Brandon went 0 for 3 and Saskatoon 0 for 4.
