SAGINAW, Mich. - Eric Locke scored three goals and set up two more as the Saginaw Spirit downed the visiting Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds 5-3 on Friday in Ontario Hockey League play.

Garret Ross supplied the rest of the offence for the Spirit (21-19-5) with two goals and an assist.

Brandon Alderson had a goal and an assist for the Greyhounds (23-19-3), who lost in regulation for the first time in five outings, as Andrew Fritsch and Darnell Nurse each scored once.

Jake Paterson stopped 34 shots for Saginaw, which has won six games in a row, as Matt Murray turned away 22 shots for Sault Ste. Marie.

The Spirit went 2 for 5 on the power play while the Greyhounds failed to score on six chances with the man advantage.

Once again, it shows character in this dressing room. Once again, there's no quitting in here. We all wanted this so bad and we worked so hard to get home-ice advantage and we weren't going to let this one slide.
