PLYMOUTH, Mich. - Garrett Meurs scored the winning goal at 15:07 of the third period as the Plymouth Whalers came from behind to beat the visiting Mississauga Steelheads 3-2 on Friday in Ontario Hockey League play.
Ryan Hartman and Gianluca Curcuruto also scored for the Whalers (22-13-8), who trailed 2-0 midway through the second period.
Josh Burnside and Dylan Smoskowitz scored for the Steelheads (20-19-4), who have dropped six games in a row.
Matt Mahalak made 18 saves for the win as Spencer Martin turned aside 39-of-42 shots in a losing cause.
Plymouth went 2 for 7 on the power play while Mississauga scored once on seven chances with the man advantage.
