Milne scores twice in regulation and SO winner as the Attack beat the Frontenacs

KINGSTON, Ont. - Daniel Milne scored twice in regulation and the winner in the shootout as the Owen Sound Attack beat the host Kingston Frontenacs 5-4 on Friday in Ontario Hockey League action.

Milne's goal at 10:31 of the second period was his first-career OHL goal and he now has three points in two games with Owen Sound.

"To be honest, I was on for the first goal against. So, I was pretty upset. You'd think it would be pretty cool (to score your) first OHL goal. But I was more like, 'Okay, now I'm even. Now I gotta get one more," said the 18-year-old forward.

Daniel Catenacci and Cameron Brace also scored for the Attack (27-12-3) and Jaden Lindo chipped in with two assists.

Darcy Greenaway scored twice for the Frontenacs (20-20-3), who dropped their fourth game in a row, and Warren Steele and Sam Povorozniouk each had a goal and an assist.

"I've been in a bit of a slump lately. It was just nice to get those bounces," said Greenaway, who hit the 20-goal mark.

Jordan Binnington made 30 saves for the victory as Mike Morrison stopped 32 shots in a losing cause.

Owen Sound went 1 for 4 on the power play while Kingston failed to score on five chances with the man advantage.

Povorozniouk buried a rebound at 18:10 of the first period to give the Frontenacs a 1-0 lead after 20 minutes of play.

The action picked up in the second period as five combined goals were scored in just over seven minutes of action.

Milne and Brace scored to put the Attack up 2-1 before Kingston responded with three goals in two minutes.

Greenaway scored twice to reclaim the lead and Steele made it 4-2 for the Frontenacs with 2:24 to play in the period.

Owen Sound kept the pressure on in the third period as Catenacci buried a rebound in front of Morrison while on the power play and Milne forced overtime with his second goal of the game with less than eight minutes to play in the period.

Kingston started the overtime period on the power play but could not generate a solid scoring chance.
