Erik Bradford scores shootout winner as Colts defeat Generals 3-2

BARRIE, Ont. - Erik Bradford scored the shootout winner Thursday as the Barrie Colts edged the Oshawa Generals 3-2 in the Ontario Hockey League.

Bradford and Jake Dotchin had the goals in regulation for Barrie (29-13-1), which has won five of its last six. Andreas Athanasiou chipped in with two assists.

Cole Cassels and Michael Dal Colle struck for Oshawa (24-16-4), while Geoffrey Schemitsch added a pair of assists.

Mathias Niederberger made 37 saves in the victory, while Ken Appleby stopped 28 shots in defeat.

The Colts now lead the Eastern Conference with 59 points, six ahead of second-place Belleville.

Barrie went 1-for-4 on the man advantage, while Oshawa finished the night at 1-for-3.
