Burke makes 31 saves as the Winterhawks extend win streak to 13 games

EVERETT, Wash. - Brendan Burke stopped all 31 shots he faced as the Portland Winterhawks crushed the host Everett Silvertips 8-0 on Saturday in Western Hockey League action.

Taylor Leier and Troy Rutkowski each scored twice for the Winterhawks (37-5-1), who extended their win streak to 13 games, and Nicolas Petan had a goal and two assists.

Brendan Leipsic and Taylor Peters had a goal and an assist each and Chase De Leo added a single goal to round out Portland's offence.

Daniel Cotton started in goal for the Silvertips (17-25-2) and he picked up the loss after allowing six goals on 38 shots through 46 minutes of action. Austin Lotz stopped 3-of-5 shots in relief.

Portland went 3 for 6 on the power play while Everett failed to score on seven chances with the man advantage.
