Valk, Pearce four points apiece as the Tigers crush the Hurricanes

MEDICINE HAT, Alta. - Curtis Valk had two goals and two assists and Elgin Pearce had a goal and three assists as the Medicine Hat Tigers crushed the visiting Lethbridge Hurricanes 10-3 on Saturday in Western Hockey League play.

Hunter Shinkaruk also scored twice for the Tigers (20-21-3) while Tyler Lewington and Miles Koules each had a goal and an assist.

Logan McVeigh, Chad Labelle and Jacob Doty scored a goal apiece to round out Medicine Hat's offence.

Axel Blomqvist and Reid Duke both had a goal and an assist for the Hurricanes (21-20-6), who led 3-2 before giving up eight unanswered goals, and Graham Hood scored once.

Marek Langhamer made 23 saves for the win as Ty Rimmer picked up the loss after allowing eight goals on 38 shots in 51 minutes of action. Christopher Tai came in to finish the game and stopped 6-of-8 shots in relief.

Medicine Hat went 3 for 7 on the power play while Lethbridge scored once on three chances with the man advantage.
