PLYMOUTH, Mich. - Ryan Hartman scored the winner 20 seconds into overtime as the Plymouth Whalers edged the visiting Erie Otters 4-3 on Saturday in Ontario Hockey League action.
Hartman scored three goals and added an assist for the Whalers (21-13-8) while Vincent Trocheck chipped in with three assists.
Cody Payne scored a single goal to round out Plymouth's offence.
Connor Brown and Connor McDavid had a goal and two assists each for the Otters (14-22-7) and Jimmy McDowell scored once.
Matt Mahalak made 20 saves for the win as Oscar Dansk turned away 40-of-44 shots in a losing cause.
Plymouth went 1 for 2 on the power play while Erie scored once on four chances with the man advantage.
