KELOWNA, B.C. - Dylen McKinlay scored twice and set up two more as the Kelowna Rockets downed the visiting Tri-City Americans 6-3 on Friday in Western Hockey League play.

Madison Bowey had a goal and an assist for the Rockets (31-10-2), who extended their win streak to eight games, while Riley Stadel, Rourke Chartier and Ryan Olsen each scored once.

Connor Rankin, Michal Plutner and Beau McCue scored for the Americans (23-16-3).

Jordon Cooke made 26 saves for the victory as Luke Lee-Knight turned aside 24 shots in a losing cause.

Kelowna went 1 for 3 on the power play while Tri-City failed to score on three chances with the man advantage.

Once again, it shows character in this dressing room. Once again, there's no quitting in here. We all wanted this so bad and we worked so hard to get home-ice advantage and we weren't going to let this one slide.
