Bartosak makes 37 saves as the Rebels beat the Blades

SASKATOON - Patrik Bartosak stopped 37-of-38 shots as the Red Deer Rebels downed the host Saskatoon Blades 3-1 on Friday in Western Hockey League play.

Turner Elson, Dominik Volek and Rhyse Dieno scored for the Rebels (24-18-4), who won for the first time in three outings.

Graeme Craig scored the lone goal for the Blades (21-19-1) as Andrey Makarov made 30 saves in a losing cause.

Red Deer went 0 for 2 on the power play while Saskatoon failed to score on three chances with the man advantage.

Quote of the Day

I downplayed the first one because I thought it's just a hockey game. We just want to win the game; it's against our rival and we want the two points. I downplayed it, but now having gone through the first one I look back and say, 'Geez, that was really cool.' I think as I've grown a bit older I've got a lot more appreciation for what we're allowed to do every day.
