Nurse scores go-ahead goal as Greyhounds defeat Sarnia Sting 3-1

SAULT STE MARIE, Ont. - Darnell Nurse scored the go-ahead goal late in the second period as the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds defeated the Sarnia Sting 3-1 on Wednesday in the Ontario Hockey League.

Brandon Alderson opened the scoring with five second left in the first period to put the Greyhounds up 1-0.

Reid Boucher tied it six minutes into the second but Nurse put the home team ahead for good with a goal at 16:26.

Dylan Staples added an empty-netter for Sault Ste. Marie (21-18-3).

Knicholas Dawe stopped 25 of 27 shots for the Sting (24-14-3).

If you want to prove people wrong, you've just got to go out and do it. Yeah, we blew 3-2 series leads the last two years, but no one is going remember that if we go out there on Saturday night and beat these guys and go play in the Stanley Cup Final. We need to get back to work and we'll start to do that tomorrow.
