The agent for Montreal Canadiens center Tomas Plekanec has put to rest concerns that his client may not be ready for the start of training camp.
Plekanec told the Montreal Gazette on Sunday that he may need 7-10 days to recover from an upper-body injury he suffered while playing for Kladno in the Czech Republic, but Rick Curran told Montreal newspaper La Presse on Tuesday that his client should be ready by the time training camp for the 2012-13 season begins.
"He will be ready to play, there is no doubt about it," Curran told La Presse.
Curran said the injury Plekanec suffered was not serious and that he stayed out of the Kladno lineup simply as a precaution after he encountered soreness in his ribs.
He said Plekanec should be back in Montreal later this week.
Plekanec was second on the Canadiens with 35 assists last season, and fourth with 52 points.
