Griffith takes over OHL goal lead as the Knights crush the Spirit

LONDON, Ont. - Seth Griffith scored three times as the London Knights crushed the visiting Saginaw Spirit 8-2 on Friday in Ontario Hockey League play.

Griffith, who has played 41 games this season, now leads the OHL in goals with 28 and points with 67.

Max Domi scored once and set up three more for the Knights (33-5-3), who have earned at least one point in 26 straight games, and Ryan Rupert had a goal and two assists.

Matt Rupert had a goal and an assist while Corey Pawley and Josh Anderson each scored once to round out London's offence.

Terry Trafford and Brandon Lindberg scored for the Spirit (15-19-5).

Jake Patterson only had to make 15 saves for the win as Nikita Serebryakov allowed eight goals on 34 shots in a losing cause.

London went 3 for 7 on the power play while Saginaw failed to score on three chances with the man advantage.

Quote of the Day

[He's] real confident with the puck now, getting it off his stick quick and no second-guessing. We need that. He's such a good guy in the room. He works so hard. That's the big thing. For not a big man, he just fights for every puck and when he scores, the guys appreciate that even more.
