Griffith, who has played 41 games this season, now leads the OHL in goals with 28 and points with 67.

Matt Rupert had a goal and an assist while Corey Pawley and Josh Anderson each scored once to round out London's offence.

Terry Trafford and Brandon Lindberg scored for the Spirit (15-19-5).

Jake Patterson only had to make 15 saves for the win as Nikita Serebryakov allowed eight goals on 34 shots in a losing cause.

London went 3 for 7 on the power play while Saginaw failed to score on three chances with the man advantage.

Quote of the Day

For our team, as a group, we've never been this far before, and so it's just more lessons learned, and sometimes you have to go to the school of hard knocks to find out what works and what doesn't. We've got a young group. They've played some unreal hockey here to get us this far, and we showed if we're not going to play the proper way, a really, really good hockey team is going to beat you, and that's what they did. It's a lesson learned.
