MISSISSAUGA, Ont. - Kristoff Kontos scored the winning goal in the seventh round of the shootout as the Mississauga Steelheads came from behind to beat the visiting Brampton Battalion 5-4 on Sunday in Ontario Hockey League action.
Dylan DeMelo scored twice for the Steelheads (19-13-3), including the tying goal at 19:11 of the third period to force extra time, while Dylan Smoskowitz and Josh Burnside each scored once.
Riley Brace had three assists and Stuart Percy chipped in with two assists to round out Mississauga's offence.
Zach Bell, Blake Clarke, Nick Paul and Matt MacLeod scored for the Battalion (18-14-7), who lost for the first time in three outings.
Tyson Teichmann stopped 33 shots for the win as Jake Smith made 30 saves in defeat.
Mississauga went 2 for 5 on the power play while Brampton scored once on three chances with the man advantage.
