Binghamton Senators score 4 unanswered goals to beat St. John's IceCaps 4-2

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - The Binghamton Senators scored four unanswered goals to blow past the St. John's IceCaps 4-2 in American Hockey League play Monday.

Mike Hoffman, Shane Prince, Derek Grant and Mark Stone scored for Binghamton (19-7-3).

Maxime Macenauer and Paul Postma replied for St. John's (15-18-1).

Macenauer gave the IceCaps a 1-0 lead on the power play at 12:13 in the first period.

But Binghamton tied the game on a power play of its own when Hoffman beat St. John's goaltender Eddie Pasquale in the final minute of the first.

After a scoreless second it was all Senators. Prince scored seven minutes into the third, Grant had a short-handed goal just over three minutes later and Stone put the puck into an empty net.

Postma managed to score on Binghamton goaltender Ben Bishop with one second remaining in the game to cap the scoring.

Bishop finished with 29 saves, while Pasquale stopped 23 shots.

Quote of the Day

I kept refreshing the page on the NHL website after the second round and I was shocked he lasted that long. I'm sure the Coyotes were pretty happy to get him. He's such a good player and he plays big in big games.
