GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Gustav Nyquist and Francis Pare scored in the shootout as the Grand Rapids Griffins edged the Toronto Marlies 3-2 on Friday in American Hockey League action.
Matt Frattin's penalty shot near the midway point of the third period tied it 2-2 for Toronto (18-9-3). Will Acton scored opened the scoring in the first period. Joe Colborne was the only Marlies skater to score on Mrazek in the shootout.
Both of Grand Rapids' goals came on the power play as the Griffins went 2 for 4 with the man advantage. The Marlies couldn't score on their three man advantages.
